Maruti Suzuki Car Sales in December 2023: Maruti’s sales in CY 2023, which ran from January 2023 to December 2023, were a phenomenal 20,66,219 units, considerably exceeding those of any other the neighbourhood OEMs.

The biggest automaker Maruti Suzuki car sales in India has released its December 2023 sales data. In both the PV and CV divisions, Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 1,37,551 units, which includes total exports and total domestic sales. Maruti Suzuki’s sales decreased YoY and MoM as compared to 1,39,347 units sold in December 2023 and 1,64,439 units sold in November 2023.
Maruti sold 15,51,292 units in FY 2023–24 between April and December, compared to 14,51,237 units sold in FY 2022–23. In December 2023, Mini automobiles, which were once a dominant and defining sector for Maruti Suzuki, reached an all-time low. The Mini sector, which formerly included major players like Alto and S-Presso, only accounted for 2,557 units, compared to 9,765 units the previous year.
The Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR are the vehicles in the compact class. In 2022, it supplied 57,502 units; in 2024, it contributed 45,741 units. Compared to 6,37,459, the 6,10,011 units in FY 2023–24 from April to December were lower YoY as well. The Compact segment accounted for 9,94,118 units in CY 2023.
The 489 units sold this year were less than the 1,154 units sold the previous year, with just Ciaz in the mid-size segment. In the year 2023, Ciaz sold 10,995 pieces. Right now, Maruti is focusing on the more profitable utility sector. The Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6 are among them.
45,957 units in the utility vehicle class were sold, an increase from 33,008 units in 2022. This section recorded 4,60,588 units in FY 2023–2024—a rise from 2,60,172 units in the previous year. Utility vehicles accounted for an astounding 5,66,545 units in CY 2023. Eeco, the only manufacturer of vans in the PV and CV spaces, sold 1,36,010 units in CY 2023, accounting for 10,034 units on its own.
Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle sector is the most improved
The overall domestic PV sales for Maruti (not include sales to other OEMs) add up to 1,04,778 units in December 2023 and 17,07,668 units in the calendar year 2023. Comparing the number of units sold in December 2022 to 1,12,010, there was a little decrease.
Super Carry, which is sold through Maruti Suzuki Commercial dealerships, sold 1,714 units in the previous month and 35,012 units in the entire calendar year 2023. 4,175 Maruti automobiles were sold to other OEMs. Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic sales (PV+CV+OEM) come to 1,10,667 units.

Maruti Suzuki Car Sales in December 2023
Maruti Suzuki sales figures 2023: Compared to the 1,17,551 units sold in December 2022, this figure showed a modest dip. Maruti Suzuki has, nonetheless, increased its export performance. The amount of goods exported rose to 26,884 units from 21,796 units sent the previous year. Maruti shipped 2,69,046 units in the fiscal year 2023 from January to December of that year.
